Comprehensive Diagnostic Psychological Assessments

Why: Are you or someone you love struggling with your thoughts, emotions, or behaviours in ways that feel confusing or difficult to manage?
Understand: I provide comprehensive psychological assessments to clarify and help you better understand emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns affecting normal functioning. Assessments are most helpful with individuals who experience difficulties such as anxiety, depression, attention challenges, or emotional overwhelm, but are unsure of the underlying cause.
Results: A diagnostic psychological assessment integrates discussions, standardized psychological testing, behavioural observations, and a review of personal history. The goal is to develop a clear, evidence-based understanding of your experiences so that appropriate and individualized treatment recommendations can be made.
Learning Disability
Psychoeducational Assessment
Learning may not come naturally for all individuals.
Why: Sometimes learning can be a challenge for children, teens and adults. I help to identify or rule out specific learning disorders, including:

Understand: Identifying a person's unique learning profile is assessed through a psychoeducational assessment. A psychoeducational assessment evaluates cognitive abilities, academic achievement, memory, attention, language processing, and executive functioning.
Results: This will provide a stronger understanding of the individual's learning strengths and challenges. Results can guide individualized learning strategies, school accommodations, and targeted interventions.
ADHD Assessment
(Children, Teens, and Adults)
Difficulty focusing, learning challenges, and constant anxiety may be the symptoms of more going on.
Why: For individuals struggling with attention, focus, impulsivity, organization, or follow-through, there may be more going on.
ADHD can often present in a variety of ways and may overlap with anxiety, learning difficulties, or emotional regulation challenges.
Understand: I am proud to offer ADHD assessments in Calgary for children, adolescents, and adults. A comprehensive assessment helps clarify whether symptoms are consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or other contributing factors.
Results: Our ADHD assessments include cognitive testing, attention and executive functioning measures, clinical interviews, and behavioural rating scales. The outcome provides a clear diagnostic picture and practical recommendations for school, work, and daily functioning.
Giftedness Assessment
Some children are naturally smart; assessments help uncover how brilliant they really are.
Why: Some children may feel under-challenged in school or disengaged due to a lack of appropriate academic stimulation. I work with parents whose children are demonstrating advanced cognitive abilities or learning potential, and would like to help them achieve their full potential.
Understand: I am pleased to offer parents giftedness assessments in Calgary and area. A giftedness assessment uses standardized cognitive testing and clinical interpretation to evaluate advanced reasoning abilities and overall learning potential.
Results: This assessment is often used for identification and placement in programs such as the Calgary Board of Education GATE program or Westmount Charter School.
